Concert of the Folk Music Ensemble of the Rainbow Robes

On July 9, 2022, after many years' abstinence, we were again able to organize a public event in the Chinese Garden. The ensemble Nichang Minyuetan (霓裳民乐团) from Aachen played traditional and modern musical selections for us on Chinese instruments, interspersed with short explanations and readings of Chinese poetry (in German). Even the weather cooperated (except for a brief rainshower) and we had a lovely and colourful afternoon.

The programme (in German), which you may download below, lists the pieces which were performed and the readings with which they were interspersed. It also shows the traditional instruments which were used and who played them.

The following photos give a hint of the enchantment of the Chinese Garden on this summer afternoon. They were kindly made available by Irina Rau and Sonja Zölfl.  Clicking on the magnifying glass under each photo will reveal a larger view, in the lower right corner of which there is a button to expand the picture to its full original resolution.
